Foundations
Course Description The fundamental task of every language is to link voice
to meaning - to provide words for the expression of thought and feeling. Language is therefore like a coin whose two sides are expression and content. Content encompasses what we are attempting to say; expression encompasses the way we articulate this content; and language is the mental code that links the two. Foundation courses will teach students both content and ability to express.
